Enriching the Everyday: Grant & Mary Featherston is a proposed exhibition hosted by State Library Victoria for ‘Vision 2023’, celebrating iconic Australian design duo Grant and Mary Featherston, best known for their work as Featherston Design. This exhibition aims to showcase their career as individual designers and as a partnership. Structured chronologically, Enriching the Everyday guides audiences through Grant’s self taught endeavours, the establishment of Featherston Design, and Mary’s contributions to the design of play and learning environments in Australia.
The identity created emphasises the balance between the two subjects, depicting furniture associated with Grant in a connect-the-dots style that references Mary’s work with children and learning environments. In doing so, audiences are invited to participate and interact through connect-the-dots activities, encouraging individual creative expression.
